A collection of illustrations taken in California (San Francisco, Tehachapi, Los Angeles area) and Canada (Southern Ontario) between 26 February 2007 and 13 March 2007. Managed to get some snow illustrations on this trip in both the US and Canada. My thanks as usual go to the local folks for assistance especially Doug and Sheryl in California and Bryce Lee and Don McQueen in Canada, without their help many of these pictures would not have been possible.

 | | Around the Tilburg area 20-21 November 2006
Views taken around the Tilburg area in Holland on a two day trip on 20-21 November 2006. On the first day the weather was so bad with heavy rain, Kevin Wills and I had to take shelter in the waiting room at Tilburg station and make a quick dash for pictures as each train passed through, the following day the weather was bright with some sun.

 | | Belgium and Holland 14-14 June 2007
A short trip to Belgium and Holland on 13-14 June 2007. On route a quick visit to Sifer 2007 in Lille, was followed by lineside action in Belgium and various locations in Holland. After two days of railways, it was a day of aircraft activity with Kevin Wills at the 2007 Dutch Air Force show held at Volkel (i'm still trying to find out what some of these winged items are!!)

The official media launch for the first vehicles of the First Great Western HST refurbishment was held at Bombardier Derby Litchurch Lane on 20 December 2006. Here are some of the illustrations. Captions will be added, but I have uploaded these as quick as possible as people have asked to see them.

On 18 February, First Rail showed off two pre-production HST vehicles Nos. 40423 and 42353 in a fully refurbished state. Squadron refurbishment depends upon First being awarded the Greater Western Franchise from April 2006. High quality refurbishment. Enjoy.

For many years I have been associated with photographing trains in and around Dawlish in South Devon. I have set out to try and get as many different classes of locomotive and multiple unit as possible passing alomg the Sea Wall section between Dawlish Station and Kennaway Tunnel. This Fotopic site will be built up as time permits showing a number of these views. Some pictures here have been taken from the previous news collection.

Siemens Transportation operate one of the most advanced test tracks in the world at Wildenrath, Germany. A site converted from an old WW2 Royal Air Force bomber base. The facility sees the testing of virtually every new train produced by the company.

Another trip was made to California between 19 April and 6 May, visiting Cajon, Tehachapi and the Bay area. The usual high number of trains were recorded but the weather was not as good as on previous trips to the area. Around 250 illustrations are posted here, representing the more interesting views recorded.

Another trip was made to the US in California between 21 September and 7 October 2004. The main areas visited were Cajon, Victoville to Barstow, The Tehachapi route, Jack London Square and the Caltrains network around San Francisco. Again a lot of GREAT US railfans were encountered and a huge thank you must go to them for their hospitality.
